Spades is a trick-taking card game devised in the United States in the 1930s. All four players bid a number of tricks. Each team adds together the bids of the two partners, and the total is the number of tricks that the team must try to win in order to get a positive score. Are you feeling confused? The player on the dealer’s left makes the opening lead by playing a single card of their choice. Players in the clockwise lead then play cards of their choice. The players must follow suit if it is possible or else, they may play any card, including a trump spade. It stands and will not be recovered after a card has left your hand unless the player who threw the card makes an attempt to correct his mistake before the next player lays down a card. The trick is won or taken by the player who played the highest card, if trumps were played, the highest trump card wins the game. Once a hand is completed, the number of the tricks is count. The first to reach 500 points wins the game! Good luck!
