In Microsoft Minesweeper, we will play a puzzle game that has been a part of Windows for more than 20 years! You probably know the rules, so let’s jump into the game and play the game you know and love, now with updated graphics and sound! Have fun!
Do you know that minesweeper has its origins in the earliest mainframe games of the 1960s and 1970s? Yes, it’s really that old game! Let’s start with an easy puzzle and work your way up to expert! You only need your mouse to play this game. Your goal is to uncover empty squares while avoiding the mines as fast as possible. You win if you uncover all the safe squares, and you lose if you trigger a mine. The mine counter tells you how many mines are still hidden, and the timer keeps track of how seconds it takes you to clear the board. If all of the mines touching a number are flagged, you can double click that number, press both buttons, or press the mouse wheel on it to uncover. You can figure out how many mines touch the square by the numbers. Be careful! And use this information to deduce which adjacent squares are safe to uncover. But you can always click on the question mark if you are uncertain about a square. Have fun!
